Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer!

I'm so happy to have the new Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer! I went to Sephora today to check it out and the oh so nice consultant got me lol. She tested the concealer on me gave my recommendations and everything it was very relaxing. The only thing I will say is I definitely will be putting on moisturizer before I put on the concealer because it seemed to have a dry look to it. It was $26.75 with tax so not a bad price for the tiny bit you have to use, it is a .58 oz tube. I got the color Sand today because that's what was recommended for me. I will be trying it myself in the morning and I actually feel kinda giddy lol. I'll post what I think tomorrow after putting everything on myself. :) You can find this product at sephora.com

Finding Time

I have been finding it difficult to find time for my page since I've moved. I dont like it lol. I really don't see the difference in what I'm doing with my time. One week I work 9am - 6pm Mon. - Fri., off Sat. & Sun. and then the next week I work Mon. - Wed. 9am - 6pm, off Thurs. & Fri., then work Sat. 10am-5pm and Sun. 1pm - 5pm. There are only 2 people in my office and we alternate weekends so I really enjoy that. I'm wanting to go back to school but that's looking out of the question more and more. I know I shouldn't feel discouraged because everything happens for a reason but its kinda hard. I want to be the do it all mom lol, But how do I do it and still have time for my family. They are my priority #1. Online classes could work as long as they offer the course online. I'm going to think on this and let you know what I come up with :) Until then....

Tips For Your 50's

50's and Beyond: Stop Wrinkled Lids

"A key sign of aging around the eyes is when your eyelids become hooded and wrinkled," says Bank. "This shows that the skin's elasticity is starting to break down." Bank suggests trying a vitamin A retinol-based product to help firm up and even out skin tone. By applying regularly, you can actually speed up the production of new skin cells and collagen.

Moisturizing is even more vital for a healthy complexion now, and finding a hard working night cream can do wonders on dry skin as you sleep. Try NeoCutis Lumiere Bio-restorative Eye Cream with PSP for day and Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream for nighttime use.

50s and Beyond: Less is More

Take this mantra to heart when it comes to your makeup routine. "Skip the eye shadow and apply a neutral liner to your upper lash line only," says Ramy. "Mascara can still be black, but used only on your upper lashes. My rule of thumb is to add an additional coat of mascara for every decade over twenty years old."

Tips For you 40's

40s: Hydrate Your Skin

By the time you're in your forties, the years of sun damage you did in your twenties finally start to rear its ugly head. That, on top of what Bank calls your lymphatic drainage — the way your body gets rid of toxins decreases in speed to result in puffiness around the eyes and much thinner skin. Since sebum production is also starting to slow (how your skin stays moisturized and sometimes too oily), invest in a rich moisturizer and a skin brightener to lighten up a tired complexion.

Try Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum or L'Oreal Plenitude Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Cream to fix worn out eyes and tighten up puffy skin.

40s: Skip the Powder

Primers are especially great at this age, but what you really should be using are foundations and tinted moisturizers with anti-aging and firming ingredients, says Ramy. Powder can cling to the lines in your face, which tends to add years on, not take them away. "Define your eyes by adding a light liner to your lower lash line," suggests Ramy. "If you have a lipstick shade you love, get a brighter look all over by adding a sheer gloss on top to make your skin really pop."

Tips for Your 30's

 30s: Start with a Serum
Since the first signs of aging usually happen around the eyes, you may start to see some differences in your thirties, warns Bank. "On top of the beginning appearances of crow's feet, you'll notice that your skin is drier and duller in color. This is because the rate of new cells being produced by your skin is starting to slow down."

Bank recommends investing in an eye cream to rejuvenate the skin, like Neocutis Biogel or a serum, like Lancôme Rénergie Microlift R.A.R.E Eye Serum to help tighten fine lines and brighten up dark circles. "Stay away from eye creams with sodium chloride or isopropyl myristate, as these ingredients can irritate your skin and lead to excessive dryness," says Bank.

30s: Start Paying Attention

It's time to start being a bit more strategic to how you apply your makeup, says Ramy. Start with a primer on your eyes and face for smooth skin that will make applying makeup a breeze. Ramy also recommends using a moisturizing concealer around the entire orb of the eye to lift and bring them forward. "Avoid black eyeliner, which can be too severe and switch out for a softer shade. Eyeliner and mascara to the upper lash line only will also give you some extra lift," he says.

Tips For Your 20's

20s: Start Prepping

Wrinkles might be the last thing you see near your eyes in your twenties, but dark circles from lack of sleep or one too many cocktails are probably frequent visitors on your face. This doesn't directly age you, but it sure as heck makes you look older. Dr. David E. Bank, MD, suggests using a good eye cream to slow down the aging process and keep wrinkles away longer. Apply a lighter cream with SPF in the morning, like Neutrogena Visibly Firm Eye Cream, and a thicker one at night like RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. To avoid breakouts, steer clear of creams that contain octyl stearate, which can clog pores and leave your skin feeling greasy.

Pair this routine with getting at least seven hours of sleep, not smoking, and eating relatively healthy. You're not young forever, after all!

20s: Try Anything Once

"In your 20s, you really can get away with pretty much anything," says makeup artist and brow expert Ramy of RAMY Beauty Therapy. "Heavy eyeliner, bright colors, super dark eyes this is the time to experiment."

One thing to stay away from? Permanent makeup, he advises. Other than that, "use sunblock and anything with shimmer. This is the period of your life where you need to experience trial and error."

20 Popular Beauty Tips

I thought this was pretty cool and wanted to share this with everyone. Who doesn't want to know beauty tips right? :)

1. "If you want to keep your hair, control your weight by exercising, not dieting," says New York City dermatologist Michael Lorin Reed. He recommends consuming high-protein, low-fat, low-carb foods for hair health, as well as popping 5,000 micrograms of biotin (a B vitamin) daily.

2. There's an expiration date on sunscreens. Check it and toss old ones (most last up to two years).

3. Help keep your skin clean and bacteria free by washing your makeup brushes. Suds them with shampoo, rinse, and hang with the bristles pointing down to air-dry.

4. Don't mix benzoyl peroxide and moisturizer. You'll dilute the BP to the point of uselessness

5. It may seem counterintuitive, but oily skin needs moisturizing, especially if you've been using acne treatments. Most topical acne creams and cleansers contain ingredients that can dry out your skin, which, in turn, can trigger inflammation and cause more breakouts. Your best bet is to use a moisturizer that doesn't contain oil and that's noncomedogenic. It won't clog your pores, and you'll be getting the moisture you need.

6. You may think that spending an hour at the beach today will help to "dry up" your acne. The harsh reality is that it'll make it worse. Our skin reacts to UV radiation by becoming inflamed, so you're likely to incur more bumps and redness from being in the sun.

7. Junk foods like chocolate, soda, pizza, potato chips, and French fries are typically thought to cause acne flare-ups. That's just hearsay, though, as no food has been shown to produce pimples.

8. A 10-year Australian study found that people who habitually eat a meat- and fat-filled diet develop skin cancer more often than those who consistently eat fruits and veggies.

9. Boost the nutrient content of your whole wheat pasta by adding a homemade sauce made from a can of crushed tomatoes and pureed veggies.

10. Good news, chocolate lovers. Dark cocoa boosts nourishing circulation to the skin. In a recent study, a daily does of cocoa for six weeks made skin smoother, better hydrated, and less sun-sensitive.

11. Stand up straight! Posture, the way we hold ourselves and position our bodies while sitting or standing, plays a big part in how we look and feel.

12. Treat razor burn with an over-the-counter tube of hydrocortisone (0.5 to 1 percent strength) and apply it to the affected area twice a day.

13. Tretinoin, a vitamin A-based skin cream, is the best wrinkle fighter around.

14. More often than not, brittle nails are caused by excessive exposure to harsh soaps, irritants, and acetone polish removers.

15. Puffy, swollen eyes? Reach for a bag of frozen peas! Wrap a soft cloth around the package to protect your skin from the frigid plastic, then chill out for five to 15 minutes while the cold shrinks the swelling.

16. Add a squeeze of lemon to your tea and you'll up the number of catechins your body can absorb by 80 percent. Citrus boosts antioxidant absorption.

17. Hum. Literally. It boosts nitric oxide, a nifty little body gas that, in small doses, has a stress-reducing effect.

18. Words to live by: Sleep is free cosmetic medicine.

19. Don't be fooled! The eyes don't need special treatment, so don't waste your money on expensive eye creams. The skin around your eyes may be delicate, but it doesn't need a special formula. Your regular moisturizer will do just fine.

20. It's a good idea to use three separate towels, one each for hair, face, and body. Wash the one for your face extra-often to keep bacteria from building up - it's a simple pimple preventer.

How To Cover Up Under Eye Circles

When it comes to hiding your under-eye circles, your regular concealer won't cut it. What you need is a peach-based one in a shade slightly darker than you would normally use to neutralize the purple rings, says NYC makeup artist Dara Klein. "Identify your skin tone first relative to your level of under-eye darkness." For example, if you have fair skin and very dark circles, your instinct may be to choose a light concealer. But this shade will actually enhance your circles because it'll only match the skin around the eye and not the shade of the actual darkness. So go up a shade — it'll be light enough for your skin tone but corrective enough for the level of purple under the eye.

Once you find a good concealer, apply it with a small brush for the most precise coverage, says Klein. "The key is to only apply the concealer only over the rings, nowhere else." Use a tapping motion instead of wiping the brush back and forth, which just blends the product into your skin.

Some great under-eye concealers to try:
DuWop Circle Block Duo ($28)
Rimmel Recover Concealer ($5.50)
BeneFit Erase Paste ($26)
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage ($28)

The 35 Best Anti-Aging Tips from Twitter

1. Don't Pull Your Eyelids -"When applying eyeliner, I never pull my eyelid. Daily pulling can result in sagging of the skin around your eyes over time." —@Shakone2000

2. Use Essential Oils -"I use my Trilogy Rosehip Oil religiously!" —@gwenpoth
$20, trilogyproducts.com

3. Sleep on Silk -"Sleep on a silk pillow. It’s gentle on your skin and won’t tug on it while you
sleep. Think less sleep lines!" —@EGSkincar

4. Keep Eye Cream on Hand -"I keep a small dram of my favorite eye cream in my purse and over the
course of the day dab a small amount onto my eye area, especially on
the crow's-feet. By dabbing it (not rubbing) I can apply it over
makeup. And as an extra bonus it gives the area a sheen, much like a
illuminating product, but with anti-aging benefits!

" —@raychelwade

SPONSORED TIP: Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum
Keeping your skin moisturized is one of the most basic things you can do to prevent visible signs of aging on the skin.

5. Protect Your Hands -"Your hands are a telltale sign of your age. Keep them well-moisturized! Use gloves when doing dishes or household work, and put SPF on them!" —@DERMELECT

6. Help Your Lotion Do More -"After you wash your face, before putting on moisturizer or any anti-aging lotions, run an ice cube over your face for a minute (or splash with some very cold water). It helps the skin absorb more of what is in these lotions, helping them become more effective. It does make a difference after a few nights of doing so! Give it a try!" —@LisaOnTheLoose

7. Up Your Antioxidants -"Use foods with antioxidants and good fats as beauty products
(e.g., blueberries, avocados). You can not only eat them, but use them in
facial masks and hair treatments!" —@yourstylishlife

8. Try Emu Oil -"I use Emu Oil on my face and hands morning and night. It's a thick pad of fat from a bird back.

I live by it, plus it's easy on the wallet." —@BGDmakeupartist
Try Pure 100% Emu Oil, $24, vitaminworld.com.

9. Ionize Your Water -"Improve your immune system and detox at the same time when you drink ionized alkaline water!" —@agingyounger

10. Apply Your Face Cream with a Brush -"Use a (synthetic) foundation brush to put on face cream using upward strokes. Not only will you avoid the skin-pulling that is common when applying cream with your hands, but the upward strokes will help to keep skin from sagging long-term." —@mayamshapir

11. Take Care of Your Hands -"Buy a less expensive night cream and use it on your hands." —@nutritionist77

12. Wash with Your Cloth -"Use a rough, nubby washcloth to bathe. It is the most inexpensive yet effective way to slough off the dead skin!" —@vintagemistress

13. Improve Your Posture -"In order to avoid getting hunched over and losing height, I sit on my sitz bones and stand with my weight in my heels — this also reduces back pain!" —@posturecoach

14. Take Your Vitamins -"Take a serving of flaxseed, cod liver, and organic olive oil daily."
—@LynnHasselbrgr

15. Get Your Blood Flowing -"I stand on my head every day for five minutes to engorge my face and head with blood and keep a youthful look." —@maxinefrendel

16. Maintain Your Lip Color -"Our lips lose color as we get older, so always use a lip stain under gloss or lip glaze. A beautiful gloss will give lips pop, but when it wears off, you may be left with a low-watt lip line. I prep my clients' lips with my Dr. KISS satin finish lip balm. It gives a small lift of color that will 'stain' the lips and give a flush of pink. This 'sets the stage' for your favorite lip color while making sure you'll have baby-hued lips between touch-ups." —@vanitymark

17. Use a Tinted Sunscreen -"The esthetician in me screams a tinted sunscreen is one product every woman should have and use! Sunscreen is the single most important thing we can put on our face to fight wrinkles and brown spots (uneven tone). The tint is because we all want a natural glow to our skin, and most tinted sunscreens provide this. If we like the way the sunscreen makes us look, the more likely we are to use it! DermaQuest ZinClear SPF 30 comes in clear or tinted forms, so that's one I always like to recommend." —@DermaMinerals $51.50, skinstore.com

18. Don't Be Aged by the Color of Your Shirt -"If you're a redhead or have brown hair with warm highlights and you're wearing pale gray or dusty lavender, you've aged yourself significantly!
Some 'anti-aging wardrobe shades' for this hair color would be teal,
olive green, and burnt orange. If you're a deep brunette, camel, olive, and mustard add years.
Try a top in royal purple, fuchsia, or cobalt blue for a quick fix.
If you have warm blonde hair, cranberry, dusty rose, or taupe — not so
much.
Try a turquoise, tomato red, or orange tee and you'll look so much
more alive.
If you have ash blonde or gray hair, avoid mustard, rust, and coral.
Go for a lavender, dusty rose, or mint green cami to turn back the
clock.

Before women start nipping and tucking and spending a fortune on the anti -aging product du jour, why not first change the color of your tee and
lip gloss?" —@jillkirshcolor

19. Drink Green Tea -"I drink green tea for its powerful antioxidant properties for staying
youthful. Plus, you can wake up tired, puffy eyes with cotton pads soaked in
 it."
 —@ann_m_brown

20. Always Use Sunscreen -"Use sunscreen even on days you don't think the sun is out: Skin cancer is a silent killer. Know the difference between UVA and UVB. And remember, it takes 30 minutes for the sunscreen to activate. Fewer wrinkles and sun spots, and less of a risk of cancer!" —
@FaceForum

21. Treat Hands and Neck -"Apply facial serums or lotions to the back of your hands and then "roll" the back of your hands up your neck. Now you've treated your neck and hands at the same time. These are the two telltale areas often forgotten that show signs of aging." —@customizdbeauty

22. Sleep on Your Back -"I always sleep on my back. Doing so prevents wrinkles and keeps my boobs from sagging.
" —@elle_swan

23. Moisturize Naturally -"The best moisturizer for your skin should be loaded with antioxidants, will not clog pores, and will help protect against skin cancer. Dab a little extra virgin olive oil on a cotton ball and use it as a nighttime moisturizer for your face and neck (and anywhere else you want to be soft!)." —@SweetCheeks

24. Find Your Favorite Products and Stick with Them -"I use Arbonne's RE9 Advanced anti-aging skin-care system!" —@fridovichlee

25. Avoid Drinking Out of Straws -"The pursing of the lips causes unnecessary wrinkles. Save that expression for kissing!" —@ReneeRouleau

26. Use Honey as a Moisturizer -"As soon as the weather turns cold, I put ordinary honey on the back of my hands for 3-6 days or nights. This stops red, scaly, bleeding hands from starting and keeps them smooth all winter." —@Sondra

27. Extend the Reach of Your Eye Cream -"I never put eye cream just on my eyes — I always extend it all the way out to the hairline. The skin between the eyes and the hairline is more like that of the eyes than the rest of your face. So far my eyes have been good to me!" —@MySkinConcierge

28. Just Breathe -"I take 10 breaths, three times per day (in through nose, out through mouth), at a 2-to-3 ratio. For example, breath in four seconds, then breath out six seconds. Focusing on your exhale releases more toxins, and allows more oxygen in cells. And when you're working out, do two to three all-out bursts for 12 seconds each during cardio...this can strengthen the inner membrane of mitochondria, which slows or prevents deterioration of cells." —@sergiorojasfit

29. Eat Your Antioxidants -"Find them in foods such as blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, kale, beans, prunes, raisins, tea, and whole grains." —@BodyVerde

30. Start Your Days with Lemons -"Juice one Meyer lemon into a cup of water every morning to begin the day chasing free radicals (which are harmful and aging) out of your body." —@POMEGA5

31. Take Care of Your Lips -"After I apply my eye cream, I rub the remainder that is on my finger around my lips. The skin is very similar." —@StormSister

32. Use Tea as More Than Just a Beverage -"Wet (but don't drain) caffeinated tea bags and freeze. Use the frozen tea bags on closed eyes for 20 minutes three times a week to reduce dark circles, puffiness, and discoloration. Tea bags can be any brand but MUST have caffeine, which does the work."
 —@VinceSpinnato

33. Love Your Job -"Find a profession or occupation that you enjoy!" —@DietsInReview

34. Cool Down -"Take cooler showers to combat dry skin. You'll notice the difference in less than a week. Especially on colder, windy days when you're tight on time and skip your body cream."

 —@PerfectPitchPR

35. Take Biotin -"I've been taking biotin for years, 7.5 micrograms per day. It helps keep your nails harder and thicker since they tend to thin and peel with age." —@Dermatologic

How To Care For Mature Skin

My Mom is always worried about her skin so I couldnt leave these great tips out.

Link: http://shopping.yahoo.com/articles/yshoppingarticles/124/the-ultimate-skin-care-guide/;_ylt=ApjUonYlBZJjamHsESaNILFYCsYu

Best Skin-Care Products for Mature Skin

As you enter perimenopause and estrogen levels begin to drop, you experience a slowdown in both oil production and skin-cell renewal. The result: skin that lacks elasticity and looks dull. You may also start noticing fine lines, brown spots, and rough patches as past sun damage (oh, misguided youth!) manifests itself.

Best Regimen: Get your youthful glow back with products that contain antioxidants and retinoids. The former fight the free-radical damage that ages skin, and the latter boost collagen production to keep it firm. Since your skin is slow to slough off dead cells, dermatologists recommend using a weekly at-home peel to help it along.

Cleanser
Winner: Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, $35, www.peterthomasroth.com. Said one happy panelist of this gel with glycolic acid: "My complexion was brighter, and my skin felt softer after just one use."
Runner-Up: Bliss The Youth as We Know It, $30.

Moisturizer with SPF
Winner: Neutrogena Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse Day Lotion SPF 20, $20 at drugstores. Testers praised the super-light texture and were delighted by how luminous their skin looked.
Runner-Up: Roc Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer SPF 30, $20.

Night Treatment
Winner: Olay Definity Night Restorative Sleep Cream, $25 at drugstores. One tester swore that she saw a difference in the dark spots on her face two weeks in.
Runner-Up: Aveeno Positively Ageless Lifting & Firming Night Cream, $20.

Best Skin-Care Products for Sensitive Skin

Almost any new product, especially one that contains fragrance or preservatives, provokes a response - usually in the form of redness or stinging.

Best Regimen: A daily dose of gentle products is the way to go. Avoid anything with an added scent, says New York City dermatologist Doris Day, and pass up eye creams, which can irritate that delicate area. Calm itchiness and redness with products that contain anti-inflammatory ingredients, like green tea and licorice-root extract. And don't skimp on sun protection: Just choose products with gentle UVA-blocking ingredients, like zinc oxide and Mexoryl.

Cleanser
Winner: Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser, $21, www.clinique.com. This cleanser delivers "dramatic improvement" in redness with oat and sea-whip extracts, and it doesn't foam, so it's not drying.
Runner-Up: Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash, $6.

Moisturizer with SPF
Winner: La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream with Sunscreen SPF 15, $29, www.laroche-posay.com. A returning champ (readers named it a favorite in last year's "Best Drugstore Beauty Buys"), the lotion contains Mexoryl, a gentle UVA filter.
Runner-Up: Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15, $14.

Night Treatment
Winner: Eucerin Redness-Relief Soothing Night Cream, $15 at drugstores. Fragrance-free, nonclogging, and infused with licorice extract to reduce red blotches. Panelists loved it.
Runner-Up: Mario Badescu Control Cream, $26.

For People With Dry Skin

Couldn't leave out the people with dry skin. I feel so bad for you in the winter because I bet winter makes it worse.

Link: http://shopping.yahoo.com/articles/yshoppingarticles/124/the-ultimate-skin-care-guide/;_ylt=ApjUonYlBZJjamHsESaNILFYCsYu

Best Skin-Care Products for Dry Skin

Blame the flakiness — along with redness and itchiness — on your skin’s barrier layer, which doesn’t retain natural oils or water as well as it should.

Best Regimen: To keep your complexion quenched and healthy, use cleansers and creams with emollient ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and ceramides. Skip foaming face washes, since they strip away lipids, and avoid anything containing harsh retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids, says Fran Cook-Bolden, a dermatologist in New York City. If your skin is very flaky or peeling, try a face oil under your moisturizer — it will smooth out your skin in a flash.

Best Skin-Care Products for Normal Skin

Your skin is neither too oily nor too dry, and you rarely break out or experience redness. Your pores are small (practically invisible), and though an occasional blemish may surface, it's usually tied to your period.

Best Regimen: Cleanse and moisturize daily with gentle, basic products. Look for those with antioxidants, which fight free-radical damage and stave off the signs of aging. You might also consider adding retinoids or vitamin C to your routine several times a week to boost collagen production, says Ava Shamban, a dermatologist in Santa Monica. Finally, don't forget moisturizer - one with sunscreen for the day and one without SPF at night.

Best Skin-Care Products for Oily Skin

Soon after you wash your skin, it looks shiny. You may suffer from blackheads and breakouts that aren't tied to your monthly cycle, and your pores are medium to large.

Best Regimen: Help keep your pores unclogged by sloughing away dead skin cells daily with products that contain salicylic acid or alpha hydroxy acids. And, logic to the contrary, it's important to moisturize: If your skin's surface gets dehydrated, your sebaceous glands, which produce oil, will kick in to action (brace yourself!). Use oil-free lotions and sunscreens, which won't exacerbate acne, says Leslie Baumann, a professor of dermatology at the University of Miami, in Florida, and the author of The Skin Type Solution (Bantam, $12, www.amazon.com).

Cleanser
Winner: Bioré Blemish Fighting Ice Foaming Cleanser, $6 at drugstores. Made with salicylic acid, it sopped up oil without drying - and won kudos.
Runner-Up: N.V. Perricone Outpatient Therapy Pore Refining Cleanser, $35.

Moisturizer with SPF

My Financial Thoughts

I've really been sitting here thinking about debt. OK I really hate it! lol. I'm making financial goals in my life right now with all the changes that are about to take place and I want to be smart about everything and always have a back up plan for emergencies. I've been researching and reading all about being debt free and saving money :) I love anything that deals with finances lol. This year Lionel and I have managed to do really well with our money! We have paid off 2 cars, we have no credit cards (Thank GOD because I hear and read so many horror stories), we don't have anything financed and starting November 1, 2010 we will not be eating out through the week. I'm so ready to start getting things like I want it :D I have decided that if we buy this house after our rental lease is up I want to pay it off in 10 years I'll only be 38. Sounds good to me lol. I still don't want any credit cards because it just seems like a rip off to me. I am going to come up with a 1 year goal plan every December, a 5 year plan and a 10 year plan that way I'm not over whelmed and I have short and long term goals :) Any advise? Let me know!! lol Well untill tomorrow....
